Vampire Hunt by Tim O'Rourke - Review

It’s official… Tim O’Rourke has made his way into my top favorite authors. Vampire Hunt, book three in the Kiera Hudson series, was simply amazing. I stayed up all night just to finish this book and then had to immediately download Vampire Breed and start reading! I haven’t come across a more emotional and gut wrenching cliffhanger in a very long time.

"Insurgent" by Veronica Roth Exclusive Excerpt!

If you've read Divergent, the first in the popular series by Veronica Roth, it can be assumed that you are being driven crazy by the thought of having to wait until May 1st for book two, Insurgent. Well, this may be a little something to hold you over, or just make you more excited... either way it's pretty awesome!

Giveaway Number Two- "Switched" and "Torn" by Amanda Hocking

I know that I said last week a giveaway would be up on Friday, but I got super busy and wasn't able to post this weekend! BUT today is the day :)

With Amanda Hocking's second book in the Trylle Novels being re-released on February 28th, I thought I'd do a giveaway of the paperback editions for both the first book, Switched and the second book, Torn! These are awesome books, both of which I have reviewed so check out the reviews if you'd like to learn more!

Torn by Amanda Hocking - Review

As this second installment of the Trylle Novels is rereleased on February 28th, I thought I’d reread and review this book to encourage some people to pick it up. This series by Amanda Hocking is creative, wonderful and hard to put down.

In Torn, book two, we again follow Wendy, the changeling and Trylle princess, on her adventures. This time though, Wendy gets herself and her friends in a little bit of a predicament. After fleeing the Trylle compound with her biological brother Rhys, she returns to her old home to see her adoptive family. Once there, she and her family members are captured by a different breed of troll and taken to a different compound, far away from their Minnesota home. Once there, Wendy begins to find out a lot more about herself and the past that Elora has lead her to believe was the truth. Without giving too much away, this book introduces us to a sort of love triangle? Square? Trapezoid? I’m not exactly sure which shape it creates but Wendy has to sort through some serious feelings as she has three different boys vying for her affections. As if that wasn’t enough, she must also make the choice between her duty and her own free will.

Vampire Wake (The Kiera Hudson Series One, Book Two) By Tim O'Rourke - Review

After reading the first book in the Kiera Hudson series, Vampire Shift, I could not wait to pick up Vampire Wake! While the first book didn't end with a very big cliff hanger, I wanted to see what this book would bring to the table after I enjoyed the first one so much.

** Some semi-spoilers below if you haven’t read Vampire Shift! Read ahead at your own risk! I promise not to give too much away!

Vampire Shift (Kiera Hudson Series Book One) by Tim O'Rourke - Review

Lately, I’ve hit a bit of a slump in finding books that appealed to me. I’ve been staring books that I end up stopping because they don’t grab me, I don’t feel I can relate, it’s poorly written or all of the above. I recently read an article about Tim O’Rourke and how his books are said to rival Stephanie Meyer’s work. Needless to say, I was pretty intrigued and decided to check out Vampire Shift, the first in the Kiera Hudson series by Tim O’Rourke. The cover alone drew me in and after I began reading, I simply couldn’t put the book down.

Vampire Shift follows a 20-year-old Kiera who just graduated from the police academy. Upon graduation, she volunteers to be stationed in the small English town of The Ragged Cove. This costal town has a bad reputation for the number of murders that have been occurring over the past few years. Once she arrives in the town, she thinks that she may have gotten herself into a very strange situation. With her special gift of sight, she is a very thorough policewoman and she sees clues that no one else seems to be able to see. After her run-in with a vampire at her second crime scene, Kiera begins to question her fellow policemen and her own past. Complete with crucifixes, graveyards and holy water, this story will definitely have you guessing!

Book News! Kiera Cass’ The Selection Coming to CW

I know that most of us are pretty excited about Kiera Cass' The Selection to come out on April 24th, and I have some exciting news! This dystopian story is coming to The CW! The Selection has been selected as one of three pilots picked up by the network.

It's said that the story follows along the lines of the Hunger Games and The Bachelor. While people do seem a bit hesitant to follow the story because of it's supposed similarities to The Bachelor, I've read some pretty positive reviews for the book already. I think it will be exciting to see what The CW brings to the story. Of course, they were the ones who brought us Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle so lets hope they keep bringing on the awesome shows! Let me know what you guys think!

Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown - Review

So this was the first ever ARC that I got approval for and I have to say, I was pretty darn giddy. I started reading this book as soon as I got it on my Kindle. I was also pretty stoked because this book was about mermaids and since I saw The Little Mermaid as a kid, I’ve loved them. Lies Beneath comes out on June 12, 2012
